We can readily give compassion to others but often leave very little for ourselves. Behavioural science research shows repeatedly that those with more self-compassion are more likely to achieve their work, health, and life goals, do so quickly, and ultimately serve others better. In Dr. McKee's workshop, participants will learn the science behind why compassion is known as the “first domino” and is a cornerstone of all that we do. Attendees will learn how external compassion and protecting themselves from negative news, external influences, and lingering uncertainty can help. Alongside this is Internal compassion; attendees will see how critical self-talk can undermine personal productivity and happiness and what to do about it. Finally, attendees will learn how to engineer moments of joy and kindness into their day to support and fast-track health and happiness goals. By the end of this workshop, participants will have created their compassion habit blueprint to help them in their work and personal lives this year and beyond. "The Curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." — Carl Rodgers
